According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destatis.de\/DE\/Themen\/Querschnitt\/Demografischer-Wandel\/Hintergruende-Auswirkungen\/demografie-pflege.html#:~:text=4%2C17%20Millionen%20Pflegebed%C3%BCrftige%20beziehungsweise,Pflegebed%C3%BCrftige%20%C3%BCberwiegend%20durch%20Angeh%C3%B6rige%20gepflegt.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal Statistical Office<\/a>, 4.17 million people in need of care were cared for at home in 2021. <strong>Of these, 3.12 million people in need of care (75%) were cared for primarily by relatives.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1687711936362{margin-right: 20px !important;}&#8221;]<strong>And which insurance company is responsible now?<br \/>\n<\/strong>The task of health insurance is to maintain, improve or restore health with the aim of preventing the need for long-term care.<br \/>\nThe task of long-term care insurance is to provide care for people in need of long-term care.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1687539080205{margin-right: 30px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Home nursing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SGB 5<\/strong> (Social Security <strong>Code<\/strong> )<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health insurance<\/strong> benefit<\/li>\n<li>Is <strong>prescribed by the doctor<\/strong> and carried out by a nursing service<\/li>\n<li>Can be prescribed <strong>with and without care degree<\/strong> <\/li>\n<li>Replacement or avoidance of hospital treatment<\/li>\n<li>Carried out in the <strong>home environment<\/strong> or also in an <strong>assisted living<\/strong> facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Home care<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SGB 11<\/strong> (Social Security Code)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Care insurance<\/strong> benefit<\/li>\n<li>Usually performed by <strong>family caregivers<\/strong>,<br \/>\npartly with the support of a nursing service (care benefits in kind)<\/li>\n<li>Requires a <strong>care degree<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1687712509002{margin-right: 20px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1687767602003{margin-right: 25px !important;}&#8221;]<strong>What if home health care AND home care are needed?<br \/>\n<\/strong>The presence of two or more different medical conditions is called <strong>comorbidity<\/strong>. If a mental illness and a physical illness are present at the same time, this is referred to as <strong>mental comorbidity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is quite possible, not only but especially in the presence of (mental) comorbidities, that both home health and home care services may be needed.<\/p>\n<p>Certain services are provided by both insurers, such as basic care (personal hygiene and nutrition). Which insurance company is responsible depends on how long the care is needed. In the case of a permanent need for care, the long-term care insurance pays, otherwise the health insurance pays. A person is permanently in need of care if he or she is dependent on care for at least six months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Those who have a nursing degree and are cared for by a nursing service therefore do not necessarily have to offset the home nursing care against the nursing care benefits of the nursing care insurance.
